Jack Stands
#31
Wow.
Politeness, torque specs and proper placement of jack stands are all important to success in life, as well as working on cars.
I am pretty sure this exchange would have occurred differently had it been face to face. I miss the old days sometimes, but I love the access to information available today and am willing to ignore the negative side.
I torque almost every bolt I undo on any of my cars. I figure the manufacturers have torque specs for a reason. I also NEVER re-use bolts/nuts that are one use only. There are just some things that make sense to spend the time or money on to make sure a job is done correctly.
The last thing I want is a suspension or engine piece failing at speed.
