To all,
I'm want to swap out the stock A6 speakers...before I dive into it, I hope to source for replacements. Anyone has the speaker sizes for front & rear?

Secondly any recommendations on the make & models of the speakers to be used as replacements?

You do not say which sound system you have. If it is the Bose, swapping speakers is not trivial since I believe the door mounted subwoofers have their own amplifiers. The front door speakers also have their own tuned resonant chamber. This might give you an idea what you are getting into.

Start on page 81. Unfortunately this document does not list the size of the speakers but you can see that if you want to change the speakers in a Bose system there are 13 of them to change. I suspect that some very good engineers designed this system and matched the speakers so the likelihood of aftermarket speakers working as well are pretty slim.

My system is non-Bose. I look thru the whole car. There's only speakers in the front & rear doors.

Front door config - tweet, mid-range & bass speaker

Rear door config - mid-range & bass (I think its a subwoofer)

The boot doesn't have a subwoofer unlike my old A4 (B6)

i changed my front door speakers high/mid...to DLS nobelium and also a Nobelium 10"
...sub playing through ski-sack opening..closed cabinet on sub.....everything else i disconnected....(that was 2009 if i remember right.... =) )
still works superb!
plus also DLS ultimate AMP's for them....and a alpine sound processor and a moBridge pre amp to convert optical to analog out....
