Default Wheel size question

Hello there!

We have an A6 3.0T Avant, and are having a bit of an issue. Bought it used, the previous owner had put 20" RS6/7 style wheels on it. The 5 spoke design. Well, unfortunate things happened and we must have the sparkle wheel replaced.

*SPARE wheel. (Sorry about that)

However, the insurance guy called and told us the shop that had ordered the wheel and tire said it didn't fit in the spare wheel compartment.

Is this true!? It has pretty low profile tires. Can the trunk of a C6 hold a 20" wheel???

A reply would be appreciated. I need the info ASAP

No just the spare. The reason being, so the spare will match the other 4.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The Wagon has 20" wheels on it right now. And I am just wondering if one of these would fit it the spare compartment. Apparently the shop guy said it doesn't. I find it hard to believe. I know how much of an idiot those guys can be.

Here's a picture of the car, so there isn't any confusion.

(I can't see your photo due to blocking software)

Let's see, did anyone try to place the 20" non-OE wheel in the spare tire well?

In general, the rolling diameter of the 20" wheel should be similar to the 17" wheel fitted to the car (as standard equipment). There would/should be little variance.

That's the thing. They are OE Audi wheels!
Maybe they weren't offered for the C6.

But still. I see no reason why they wouldn't fit it there.
There are TONS of guys on here that run 20" on their C6s. I can't believe all those people would have no spare wheel.

Ignore what the person at the shop told you.

There's no reason you can't run an alternate size spare wheel/tire.

Our '06 wagon had 5 matching 17" wheels/tires when new.
