A7, future classic
I bought my '12 A7 because I am an Audi nut and I really every aspect of the car.
From time to time I look at the car and think of cars like Aston Martins, Jags, a few Mercedes, and think that the A7 may become a classic someday. Maybe the classic will have to be a RS7, but so be it.

You know I l've thought about this too and agree. I think the A7 hatchback design is a one of a kind. Especially when compared to its competitors (Cls, Panamera, 6 series). I can't say those vehicles will transcend time because of their rather traditional styling. Maybe the panamera because it's Porsches premiere sedan but even so it's design already seems outdated and its tech for sure is. Call me biased but seeing the A7 as a classic is what pushed me to go with the 16'. Unfortunately mine got flooded out so now just waiting to get my hands on a 17' 😁.

Sorry, but I don't see it at all. I think it looks great from the front and front 3/4 view, and straight on side is good but not great. The rear is badly flawed in the it is too "droopy". Obviously my opinion against yours and because it is subjective, neither of us is wrong. And keep in mind that I have actually owned two of them now.
It takes a lot for a car to stand out as a widely regarded classic. I actually think the BMW Gran Coupe has better overall lines and proportions, but I also think it is a bit subtle for the typical person to pick up on.

I don't know if the car will become a classic someday, but in my opinion it does have a timeless design and it is one of the most elegant and stylish cars Audi has ever built. It was love at first sight for me when I first saw it at an auto show in Boston around 2011, and at that time I knew I have to have it.
Excluding high-end exotics, there isn't another car that I would rather have. The A7 is the perfect fit for me all-around.

Which is why I would not consider the Panamera a classic either. I think it's design is nearly a disaster. The A7 is a great looking car, but a classic has to go beyond that. Aston Martins are what I consider painfully good looking. After that I have a hard time thinking of another current car that would be a classic just based upon looks.
