I wanted less vague, more up-to-date car reliability information. So in 2005 I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, to report on new models sooner and track cars closely as they age.

Thanks to the help of JET and this forum, for which I'm very grateful, we've had excellent participation by Audi owners. I'd like to cover the A7 as soon as possible -- just a matter of getting enough people involved.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the A7, for free. I'll share results in this thread when we have them.

Last night I learned that an error in the database would have prevented people in the U.S. and Canada from enrolling an A7. I've now fixed it. Sorry for any confusion this might have caused.

Over a dozen now signed up. More will be needed to provide solid results in May, but a very good start.

We've updated the our reliability stats for the A7 and C7 A6 to include owner experiences through September 30, 2012. With 25 repair trips per 100 cars per year, so far these cars are very reliable.

We've updated the our reliability stats for the A7 and current A6 to include owner experiences through December 31, 2012.

The stat of 40 repair trips per 100 cars per year is higher than earlier, and now about average.

Thank you, once again, to this forum and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May and August. The more owners participate, the more precise these will be. We especially need more participants for the 2013, to also provide a stat for the current model year.

Thx for the update! My first 7 months or so w/ my A7 were so frustrating w/ back and forth trips to the dealer (noted on your site) - But I haven't had an issue of the slightest since having the previous corrected.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:
2013 A7 and A6: 34, moderate
2012 A7 and A6: 35, moderate

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2012 A7 and A6: 75, < 1

We'll have further updates in August and in November. The more owners participate, the more comprehensive and precise these will be.
