Auto-off driving me nuts!!!!
2016 A7 apparently defaults to the the auto-off when car is on a stop light.
It is driving me nuts. How to default it to off??? Even thinking to hard wiring the car to exclude that feature if I don't find another option!!!

There is a vcds for this which lets it remember your last position prior to ignition off.
Very easy done this on day 2 of ownership.
GO to Module 10 park/Steer Assist,
then adaptation,
then Deactivate Start stop function and
turn it to active.

Ross-Tech: VCDS: Downloads: Current Release and Manual
I'm new to this forum but I know there will be guys on here who have it and will prob do it for some beer vouchers. Lol.
You can look at faults, reset service etc etc etc.
Link attached may help you understand what i mean.
Try typing vcds in search bar too.

Ross-Tech sells a VCDS cable that plugs into your OBDII connector under the dash. Using a PC laptop and their Vag-Com software allows you to run disgnostic scans of your car's systems, display fault codes and make various mods to the car's software. They also offer a mobile version that works with a smart phone.

Not nearly as simple as the first response implied, and if I'm not mistaken it's about $300 program.
If anyone in the Houston area is experienced and can help the beer and burger would be a no-brainier.

Make a post under the regional section. That would produce results better than here. I just dropped in the Texas sub-forum and I see some posts by Audi owners asking for VCDS/VAG help.

Their Vag-Com software is free, it's the VCDS dedicated cable that costs $350. I've had mine for several years and have used it with all four of my Audis. An indispensable tool worth every penny of the investment.

+1. I have had mine for years as well. Used it in my VW MK6 GTI and now, my S5. Originally shared the cost of a used cable with my buddy. I have since bought his share when he moved out of town.
