Default Brakes Pads & Rotors

Just got a brakes pads warning on my 2012 A7 with about 42K miles on it. Dealer is going to push to replace pads AND rotors, I'm sure. Welcome any advice on. Whether rotors are necessary. Have not driven the car since I got the warning. BTW, my lease expires in a month, but I can't turn car in with the brake pads light on, so must replace pads as a minimum. Thanks

Only way to tell is to measure the rotor thickness and check the run out. Pads will definitely need to be replaced.

Had the same light come up around 43k miles. I took it to a place that recommended all pads and rotors be replaced (you could see a lip at the edge of the rotor). I got 3rd party EBC slotted rotors and red stuff brake pads and it's awesome so far.
