Default LED vs Xenon Headlights

Hi all:

I plan to step up to an A7 shortly and can't decide how much of a practical difference the prestige xenon adaptive headlights are compared to the full LED headlights.

Aside from the aesthetic differences (LED looks much better), is the LED output that much better?

Any input is appreciated.

Without question, having 2 Audi's presently, an A5 with xenon and an A7 with led's - the led's are superior. Here in Palm Beach County, we have many poorly lit or dimly lit side roads that really benefit your field of vision on a dark nite.

Just to clarify you statement, the Prestige comes with LEDs. I thing they are very good, but if it was a stand alone $2,000 option (that is what they have been on BMWs) I would not get them. For me, Pretige was a must have for other features that only come with that package.

Assuming you're looking at the 2016s, you get LEDs regardless of the package.

My 2013 Prestige didn't come with them, they were a $1400 option. My first experience with xenons were with my 2001 A6 BiTurbo. Other than good tires and brakes, great lighting is an important addition to any car, whether or not you have to pay for them as an option.

It would be a 2012 prestige, so the full LED's are not standard. I am coming from an a5 and do not think the headlights are that great.

Since the 2012 A7 Prestige comes with full LED headlights, its a bonus and you won't regret having it. I can assure you slickrick! Go for it....and post some pics after you do

Sure the full LED headlights are standard in 2012? Pretty sure its a $1400 option or part of the innovation package...

Yep, you're right. They are either the $1,400 add-on or part of the Innovation Package. One of the 2012 order guides is here for reference:

yep, I am having a tough decision, I found two identical cars, color, mileage, options, price, except one is CPO and has cold weather package (no LED headlights), and the other has the LED headlights (no CPO or cold weather).

Is an extra 2 yeas of worry free driving worth the offset of not having those beautiful LED's...first world problems as they say.
