Hey guys, I own a 2012 A6 but I browse the A7 option because I love the A7 as much as I love my A6 .
Instead of paying big bucks $$ to get a matte black grill, just PLASTIDIP your current stock grille, you will achieve the same look for $6.50. No I don't work for the company but I just love this product. I used it on my old BMW have it on my current Acura and Audi!
I just did the chrome edge of the grill but you can do the whole grill!
This stuff is very safe on the paint if you get overspray it peels off because its a rubberized coating. Its big with the A4/A5 crowd.
Some pictures.
Masked up!
End result
You can use this on the window trim as well, I used it on my old BMW.
Hope this helps!

Would be nervous about how it holds up to rocks/ road rash too though.... seems too good to be true?

Hey guys,
Its very easy to apply, just stand about 5-6 inches away from the grill and start spraying, its VERY FORGIVING. If you mess up....simply peel it off and do it all over again. Don't do it in cold weather, I did it last week when it was high 80's. Do thick coats, I did many coats (5-8) and let each of them dry for 5 min....let the whole grill dry for an hour after I did my last coat and peeled off all the tape/newspaper. Came out awesome.
I have had it on my Acura for over 2 years, on the BMW for over 2 years. Its very durable, I was involved in a accident in my Acura a year ago and the dip held up fine.
I did some "aggressive" driving over the weekend and it held up fine on the A6.....just have a bunch of bird splatters and road tar, will get the car washed tomorrow.
Another pic!

BTW the videos Kyn Prime posted are a great reference, I would watch them before I attempt this!
