At what speed does rear spoiler lift?
#42
I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would post a (partial) answer to this question here for people like me who find it via google and are left wanting more info when they get to the end...
Rear spoiler deactivation in VCDS- I wanted to adjust the activation/deactivation speeds which I cannot find a solution to. However while experimenting I found that it looks like it is possible to deactivate it completely with no error lights on the dash. I tested it on my road and no errors appear, but as I have left mine as standard I don't know what will happen once the key speeds are hit. I would assume nothing, but try at your own risk obviously.
If deactivated whilst in the up position, it stays up. If deactivated whilst down, it stays down.
To do it, simply untick the box that says "rear spoiler installed" in the long coding helper in both module 17-instruments (byte 5 bit 1) and also in module 46-central conv. (byte 6 bit 7)

Are you saying you haven't hit 85mph since changing it? I probably hit 85+ several times a week. Just a little burst up the road towards my house gets to 90+ in no time flat.

I live in quite a built up area, no way is anyone hitting 85 around here until they get onto one of the main A roads or the motorway! 50 seems too much on these roads - kids, dogwalkers, pedestrians, cyclists, schools and shops galore!

Mines lifts at 86mph and drops at 53mph.
If i press it up manually and then go above 86mph (on a private road ) the light on switch goes out and goes back to auto mode and will drop again at 53mph.
If that makes sense.

With all the spoiler talk, I was playing with the button yesterday. I found one press and release will raise the spoiler and light the indicator light. I had to keep the button pressed to lower and turn off the light.
When I tried a press and release to lower, it would start to drop then raise back up. You can use it to wave bye-bye.
