Catalytic converter question
Catalytic converter making a rattle noise. Has anyone replaced them on the d2? Is the direct replacement? Where can I order some from?

You can get OEM replacements from ECS tuning for a tidy sum:https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-D2_A8...ust/Emissions/
They do list the OEM part number. I'd suggest copy/pasting that part number into google or ebay and see what you can come up with. I'm sure you could find an aftermarket alternative. Driver side is fairly easy, passenger side is a little more difficult to get to the bolts at the manifold but can be done.

FCP sell a Cat which may be direct fit. It's aftermarket in any case but comes with the flange, flex joint and length of pipe.
You could also chuck the part number into Easy Square and see how their price compares

My name is Jeremy from audionlineparts.com I can at the least help you find the correct part number for your car. Do you have the VIN? I can look it up for you!
Let me know!
Thank you

Walker makes a CARB approved CAT for about $130 per side for the 2000. I had two welded in and was out the door for under $500. Later 40V engines sprouted a pre-cat as well. Not sure if it can still be used as a main cat in those instances.

i just installed magnaflow cat,and it sounds like a muscle car lol, local shop charged me 120$ to install and i paid 145$ for the cat.
i prefer oem its much smoother but this is relatively cheap,so far around 100 miles after install and i am not geting any too lean codes that i was getting with broken cat.
Make sure its california one and it matches engine family that its on the sticker by radiator.
