Where did you get that connector? Looks like something a stereo shop would use. We were trying to do something similar using some copper pipe but no way to crimp it. we tried to solder it but could not get enough heat.

It is a stereo connector. I sourced it from ebay, its called a 0 gauge coupler. Nobody local carries this, so I have to resort to online. Its probably not the ideal solution, but I ran into the same problem as you, lack of heat to solder, and I didnt own a proper crimping tool, let alone have enough room to use one. At least with this, I'll be able to disconnect/remove it and clean it periodically if I wanted. I threw on some heat shrink and covered it all with wire loom for some additional protection.

If you use heat shrink with the hot glue lining it will probably never give you a problem again.
