Yes, you need to clean out your rain drains under the hood ...AND you need to clear the interior AC drains in the cabin. Even if not using the AC, overflowing rain water will drain out the interior AC drains if they are clear.

The link posted by silverd2 is a spot on. I had the same problem - It was fun when a asked my brother to sit in the passenger seat an look under the dash while I mad a hard left hand turn - he got soaked. Anyway, I used a shop vac fitted with my wife's turkey baster on the end of the hose. Filled area under the hood with hot water and a splash of bleach - did this three times and finally got good flow. That was last year about this time. When we got a break in the weather I followed the link above and was very grateful for the information. Good Luck

2 ways the water gets in up front:

1) fills the area under the hood up by the firewall/cowl area. 4 drains there 2 center and 1 over each wheel well. IF it fills too high, it can get in through the cabin air inlet (center of cowl) and through any little holes into the cabin. It can also fry your ECU/TCU in the underhood electronics box.

2) Your breath. water vapor condenses on the AC coil...turns to droplets on the tray under the dash...but the drains on this condensate tray are clogged...so it fills up and splashes out when you turn...It's people water...yuck
