New S8 owner 2000 in UK
Hi All
Just picked up this week a 2000 S8. So far so good but it does need a bit of love.
Headlight leveller warning lit up. Some sun worn badges and a rub strip missing.
Nice history though and no damage apart from a few stone chips.
Looking for a copy of the original sales brochure if anyone has seen one.
Today I'd first clean day ..
Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
Very common for the arms on the level sensors to fall off their suspension brackets - particularly at the front.
You'll find the little box attached to the right hand chassis member at the front and the arm attaches to the front lower control arm (same one strut attaches to) with a flimsy metal bracket. The bracket only clips shut and wears easily so it no longer stays clipped - I fixed mine by running a small zip tie through the slot at what should be the clip. Hasn't fallen off in 10,000km and I drive dirt roads all the time.
Rear is also right hand side I think, easy to spot though.

I will have a probe and see what I can find.
Unfortunately the weather (unlike Oz no doubt ) is a bit mixed today .. Hopefully later I can have a probe.
Thanks again... Great tip!

Hang on, I got my rights and lefts mixed up!
I temporarily removed my gloves with the 'R' and the 'L' on them before writing that post...
The sensors will be mounted on the chassis members on the other right hand side (also known as the left hand side).
Don't worry, winter in Melbourne gets cold and wet enough (though not to the point of snow)!
We are having a balmy late Autumn though - almost t-shirt weather at midnight tonight!

Thank you! I know what you mean about the gloves
Sadly couldn't look today in the end. ... Next few days all being well. Started raining when I went out.
Coincidently have a Skype call with colleague in Australia in the morning so getting some Z's!
Thanks again
