Spec S8 2002
Hi, just bought a fabulous S8. It has everything sat Naveeta, sports seats , solar panel sunroof......but it'd doesn't have the rear or side blinds ? Is this correct on some models of the s8 D2?
Thanks. Prav

Looks like those are part of a package and separate from the solar sunroof option:

In the USA I do not recall seeing a D2 S8 (2001-2003) without that package but maybe it was just a very common option package.
Enjoy the car,
-Joel.

thanks for the welcome to all. Trying to attach pics - hopefully attached.
Couple of questions if okay please:
1. Current milage is 133,000 and cambelt was done at 49,000 and 79,000 in 2009. I'm thinking it needs to be done and am going to ask my mechanic to take a look?
Do i need to change anything else while (if) the belt gets done?
I have read about the management light being on - its not flickering and sounds like i need a reader to diagnose properly, car still drives great just annoying seeing the light on the dash.
thanks, Prav

Thanks,we have same wheels or you perhaps have 8.5J version that was an option near end of production.
Cam belt(timing belt) is due every 75000 miles or 8 years according to audi.
Mine was done 1/2010 @79000 miles,127500 miles on the clock now.
Very important service, has to be done right don't cheap out on this one.

I did not know those wheels were available late in MY2002. Nice bi-xenons.
At 133K I'd be thinking of replacing the fuel pump, there is one for under $50USD on ebay that should work, or $150 that is known to work. I'd also replace the serpentine belt tensioner pulley, you can put on one from a Hyundai 2.7L engine for $20USD or replace the whole tensioner assembly for $80 or so. That'd be good to do between now and 150K maybe next serpentine belt change.
I would not be concerned about the timing belt for a good long time unless the latest belt change was not actually done.
Spark Plugs should have been done around 100K.
It's best to get your own code reader or scanner if not the whole VCDS setup to manage the car's computer system. I have heard good things about the Launch Tech Creader VI Code Reader and Scanner for $50 USD or there are cheaper code reading tools.
