Is there any other cars that a 2001 Audi A8L 4.2 is interchangeable with?

Hello,
As I understand things, there is much overlap between the engine (and transmission) of the 2000-2002 Audi A8 Quattro 4.2V8 (L or otherwise) and the 1999-2004 Audi A6 Quattro 4.2V8. The engine and transmission are not identical, as I understand things, but many or most of the parts are.
I might have an intake manifold actuator (from my 2000 A6 Quattro 4.2 V8, which is trashed anyway) and it might fit your car, but I'd like to understand the problem a little better. Would you please elaborate?

Addressing the root cause
@silverd2 I looked at some related threads, and I see there's a lot more to this issue. As so often happens, there's a root cause and then a series of secondary consequences. Addressing only the latter isn't money well-spent because the replacement part will simply break again (perhaps, soon) until the root cause has been addressed. You have written eloquently on this subject, and so has @PaulW ... as to the root cause especially: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-.../#post23871132
As I understand the issue, if something isn't rotating freely any more, then the proper fix isn't "push harder" but "get it to rotate freely once again."
So with that in mind, I'm happy to sell a used replacement part but (respectfully) only on the condition that the root cause has been understood and addressed... as an analogy, treating a burn wound is premature if the patient is still in the fire.

Yes most likely the flapper in the manifold is stuck, if that can be freed up the replacement pod might work OK as long as it gets exercised often enough to avoid sticking again. Otherwise check out the threads where the manifold flappers are serviced.
