Default 2006 a8 oil cooler

hey everyone this is my first post. I am trying to remove the oil cooler from 4.2l a8l. I cannot access the top left bolt for the cooler. there is a metal coolant pipe in the way. I removed the bolt holding it into cooler, but it still will not move enough for me to get to last bolt. i cannot see where it goes to loosen at other end. can anyone help me?

no. the pipe goes in on the top, not the side. it hits the exhaust stud before it comes out. wanted to see if there is another way before i try to remove stud.

when i click on the part for removing the cooler it shows the other kind, not the one i have. is there possibly another process for my model. coolant line goes on top of cooler, not the side.

I don't know why you have to remove the engine mount to get to the coolant pipe nut? You can get to the front coolant pipe nut? Can you see the whole pipe? Can you loosen the manifold enough to loosen the pipe out to remove the oil cooler bolt?

Wow, I didn't know they make it so hard to replace the coolant pipe.

the cooler bolt is directly behind the pipe. I would have to completely remove the pipe out of the way to get to the bolt. if i take the stud out of the head i might be able to clear the cooler. if not i'll have to remove manifold. not what i want to do if i can help it.

well that was the trick. removed the front 2 lower exhaust studs, then the pipe moved out of the way enough to get that last bolt out. i found the bolt more of a pain than the studs. and as said the plastic piece came apart in pieces. thanks for all the help.

I'm sure the dealer doesn't sell the better one, so where can i get the metal sleeve. Is it a kit with all the o rings or do i have to buy them separately?
