AC Blows Cold in Center, Warm on outer
I have just recently developed this issue. Does the D3 A8 have the valve and issue that the A6 owners are talking about here?:

I'm just wanting to get this fixed. I have my XKR to drive, but I hate having my daily driver down for such a dumb reason.

I think there is a setting in the heating interface that allows you to always have cool air blowing from the centre vents. I can't say exactly where without going out to my car.

Just got mine back from a/c work. The rear was blowing colder than the front and the passenger was blowing colder than the driver. Ended up being the compressor was going and was sending metal shavings into the system causing it to clog. Dealer replaced compressor, dryer, and condensor and it's as good as new!

How did you check it?
Did you actually drain it with a sealed professional system and weigh the refrigerant? (As in, the only way).
Net, from my own experience my money will be on this one that has been dismissed apparently. Been here, done this as it were, and it was the refrigerant after trying a variety of other stuff. Like me, second guy (PaulW--posts more on QW) had the same experience w/ his 2007 S8) last season. The system holds relatively little actually--part of the global warming oriented stuff ultimately--so well under a pound of it means the system is trying to run with 50% or less, and it just can't.

It ended up being the heater control valve:
I pulled the solenoid covers and the solenoids. The rear valve was covered in a burnt coolant goo. I cleaned everything and put it back together. The heat works and the ac works; with the valve opening and closing when necessary. I also did an at home coolant flush; not the pressurized stuff, and put in fresh coolant. That was two weeks and 500 miles ago and the car is good!
I just wanted to post a resolution to this issue.
