Taking it out and in is not that difficult. Bentley says to do all kinds of elaborate removal but it is not needed (I did some of this the first time). I had to take mine out twice, and the second time I was able to replace it in 30 minutes. I spent another few minutes with tie wraps making sure everything was snug. you do need a torx 35 or torx 40 to remove blue air reserve chambers.

Hi Guys, I found you discussing my compressor repair kit, im ussually over on the allroad page of this forum as that is what i own, but the compressor is the same so any questions about suspension issues or compressor kits, i will try to help
I do have A8 compressor removal guides if you email me, i have not listed them on my website yet as it needs a little tidying up but they are perfectly useable for showing you the steps. Normally the removal compressor steps can be found here,
http://www.bagpipingandy.com/compressor.html
i will add the A8 soon, but for now email me i can send you the PDF
sold over 3500 compressor repair kits now, the only thing to kill the A8 compressor is the relay sticking on which will burn out the motor make magnets fall off (this symptom os found by the compressor running with the ignition off),
or the only other issue can be a deeply scored cylinder if the air intake is not correctlty filtered,
So if your comressor actually runs but it is just noisy or slow then the kit should do the trick,
any questions please just ask
regards
Andy

So my pump blows on bench but but a hair dryer on medium.
Some out here suggest bad really ?
Some suggest a magnet in pump motor is off ?
What do you think ?
Pump works on bench but at what output ???
Magnet fix ? Relay fix ?
How can I tell if these are issues or non issues ?

Either read the procedure in the Bentley service manual or simply:
1. Remove large engine cover from bottom of car.
2. Remove driver's front wheel (North America).
3. Remove that wheel well cover.
4. Disconnect all air lines from compressor.
5. Disconnect all electrcal connectors from compressor wiring.
6. Remove compressor mounting bolts.
7. Remve compressor from vehicle.

Or
Seized mounting bolts and being unfamiliar with electrical connects, then 4 hours !

If you have the compressor out and opened up, disassemble the electric motor and use JB Weld to reglue or add extra glue to secure the motor magnets all around their edges.
A magnet breaking away from the motor shell is the #1 failure mode of these compressors per the WABCO durability tests performed.

I want to check mine before next steps.
Help....

Discovered there is a $25 rebuild kit available for our air suspension compressor that would save hundreds versus a new compressor. I found this by poking around the internet and when (not if) the time comes this is the route I pan to go.
Thought others would appreciate the information as I've noticed a lot of air suspension posts recently.
Check out the rebuilt video as well, seems very straight forward. The harder part is likely pulling the compressor out. If anyone could post instructions on how to R&R the air compressor that would be very helpful.

Shipped within minutes of purchase
Nice clean easy to install package arrived.
Mine need a clean and piston ring regardless if this is or is not the final answer to my suspension issue
I do know Andy delivers what he promises

Brown into motor
The brass nut doesn't fully tighten
It's tight but nut tight tight
I can still turn it and it never fully tightens
