I would go with FAT 32. Unlikely the AMI will read NTFS format.

My manual (pg 38) indicates Fat16/32 and USB 2.0.

I'm using a MicroCenter 64GB USB 2.0 stick formatted Fat32 using freeware formatter.

I am also using a microcenter usb 32G flash drive. I think the brand of flash drive does not matter but maybe a cable problem? Not sure but that' what I would look into. I wonder if anyone in your area has a known working cable to test. Also if I remember reading people have even used larger regular HHD with success.

Try to buy the cable I have indicated in my previous post, it is not expensive and it is working. My HDD is WD, by the way and I have the factory installed MMI.

It is not a link it is the name of the cable, just copy it at Amazon search and you will see it.

I did a search on Amazon Canada's site and got this page
Audi AMI USB Cable - USB Audio Cable Adaptor for Audi Music Interface: Amazon.ca: Electronics Audi AMI USB Cable - USB Audio Cable Adaptor for Audi Music Interface: Amazon.ca: Electronics

I ended up ordering it. I guess the cheapest isn't always ideal lol
