Convenience Close?
Just wondering if there is a good reason why Audi removed the "convenience close" feature... leaving it only with "convenience open"?
I can go as far back as my 1992 S4, and it had convenience close via the remote!
Or is this something that can be coded with a VagCom (VCDS) to work?

Nope, I'm referring to the ability to open (and hopefully close) the windows and sunroof with the remote... by holding down the "unlock" button for open... and "lock" button for close.

This has always been a programming type thing. Done w/ VCDS. It was back in C4 era actually too--I was there for it on my 96 A6. But back then there was a TSB that said dealers could re set it once as owner requested (and Audi would pay); long gone. Later the position morphed--they said it interferes with pinch protection for purposes of USA specs. That is, kids getting hands, heads, etc. stuck in opening. I haven't ever tried to test that. Anyway settable w/ VCDS and always one of the basic mods. Older Audis also had auto lock as another VCDS tweak, but that has moved to MMI settable change. I do sunroof closed (w/ windows) but not open to avoid walking away and then rain coming out of no where and you forget. Others say the rain sensor closes it up in that scenario.

Convenience close works perfectly fine on my 2004 D3, press and hold either the lock button on the door or the key and all the windows and sunroof close up nicely.
There is a setting in the MMI where you can turn it on/off or restrict it to exclude the sunroof.

On my 2006 A8L, the MMI interface setting calls it "Convenience Open", with an option to include the sunroof. That seems to be working just fine. But the Convenience Close is not working... so I'm guessing that I need to make that VCDS change to some program block... it's just a matter of finding out which block and what values to use.

Ah, so Audi also calls it Comfort Opening / comfort closing. Sunroof open and close with remote. , windows open and close with remote.
