Would love to thank you for the world's most useless feedback. I really hope that you feel better making a comment such as this to prove your "superiority" in the realm of posting on a car forum.

Now does anyone outside this guy have any insight as to what the difference is in the part #'s ? Just simply trying to get this fixed without the debate over which tool was used to acquire the fault information.

Hello MNCB,
It would help to have the complete part number of the part you have in question, as you wrote "9773 and 973 A" but neither of those match to the TPMS, all the modules I see for the A8 are 4E0 907 273.

Hello MNCB,
As to the part number, your carista is displaying the SW= (software) number, not the HW= (hardware) number, the correct part number is 4E0 907 273, I do not see any with the "A" at the end except for a part beginning with "4F0" which are for an A6, BUT there are many 4E0 907 273's on EBay as low as $23.00 for the A8 2004-09....

The carista appears not to give the full picture as to the detailed information on each module....

I am aware that the carista app doesn't give the full picture as the vcds does. I Use it for code reading on my truck so in the interest of time and trying go find out whats what its what i have available. I ordered the replacement controller and for 30 bucks ill go with the inexpensive fix first. Where is this module located?

if I remember correctly the TPMS ECU is located under the back seat at the left. unless the car was flooded that high or something spilled in the trunk that should not be affected, you need a better scanner before you start to waste money, problem might just be the communication lines, fuse or just the water is still lodge in something.... you need to remove the front and back seats, carpet and start cleaning up the water, you're not out the woods yet, sooner the better to....
