Default fog light grille

I'm posting here because you guys are the most active and the best info.
I need a fog light grille for my 2001 A8L. Passenger side. I've been searching on the internet and so far no luck.
Any suggestions as to where to buy?

I'm sure someone will tell you this is the D3 forum but some of us, (myself included) previously owned a D2 like yours. Grilles are impossible to find. (unless you see a car parked and decide to grab them). Back in my youth it was hubcaps that people stole. I had a complete set, light, grilles and trim pieces. Finally sold the grilles. Be aware there are two different versions of the grilles for D2s. If you're interested in the lights or trim, give me a buzz.

Maybe that's what happened to mine, someone grabbed it.
We had guests using the house and the car for a week while we were gone and I discovered the grill missing when I returned. I noticed scrape marks under the bumper so she might have hit a curb and it popped out. I also had numerous scrapes on the wheels on the passenger side, one even had red paint on it so I'm assuming she scraped a curb a few times.

Get a part # for it. Then search eBay, but not just normal U.S. Also try eBay.de, the German site. In German but searching by part # you can often break through it, and shipping for smaller parts can still price out ok if seller reasonable and sells to North America. Where I got them for my C5 4.2 when some low life stole both when parked in a bad area. I used a bit of baling wire after that not easily seen to slow down easy removal, especially in dim light more conducive to thieves.

Did you look very hard?

I use small black zip ties to secure the grilles to the car.

Good luck.

I interpreted what he meant as like for fifty bucks, not $218. Anything on ECS that is a dealer part can usually be gotten from an online dealer for another 5-15% less. But that doesn't close the gap on the value equation on a 15 year old two- and soon three-generation old ride. D2 off D3 topic aside, we will have more and more of the same conundrum w/ D3. Already seeing it in big areas like air suspension, and even years ago now on TPMS sensors.

Fair enough. I agree as these cars age, parts become scarce and costly to replace. A breakers yard like Scoken would be his best bet, even though Scoken's prices can be a bit high.

I would recommend TFT check the D2 forum for any grilles for sale. A quick search Fog Lights Needed showed last year several people were willing to part with grilles.

The "I need a fog light grille" request seems to pop up every 10 months on the D2 board. Not to long ago somebody who had a 3D printer was offering to create grilles for purchase. I don't know how good they would be or look, but at least it would fill the gaping hole in the front.

A8Parts in UK, forum sponsored by an Audi "Breaker". Site says they'll ship anything anywhere.

Via Ebay or their store site. 117 GBP = $142 USD... At one time they had a one-day 50% off sale, so they are probably negotiable... only problem is the language barrier

Excellent forum, too.
