Everything has been working perfectly on my A8 the last month or so. No electrical gremlins, button issues, weird noises, or any other items.
May have sorted all the crap that came with it. Most was from, short trips in NYC, salted roads, LONG periods of storage. Driving it almost every day has smoothed out many of the little issues.
While off I have a few projects still to tackle: flush the front and center differentials, replace cabin filter, and saw off the chrome tailight trim.
I thought the trim was factory. Want to thank aTOMic for setting me straight. I told him I wished my car was another year model without the chrome tailight trim. He dropped the phone laughing.
I will use the same technique as used on the S8 emblems it came with. But fishing line instead of dental floss. Floss does not hold up.

Hair dryer on that chrome to soften up the glue, then fishing line, followed by 3M adhesive remover. That bling should come off fairly quickly.
I see you are in Houston. Hope you can make it to ACNA Lone Star Chapter events, and Cars & Coffee -- if they ever get it fired up again! Love the car...!

Is 3M Adhesive Remover safe on plastic?

I hope the trim is on painted metal. Cleaning the glue off the tailights should okay too.
The trim makes the car look dated. The change will be nice.

Heating up the adhesive with a heat gun or hair dryer and using floss should work. Then goo gone to tidy up afterwards

Good to see your aftermarket chrome gone, I was being polite and not saying anything.
Wish I could get the factory rub strips that surround the car in a one piece version without the chrome upper half.

You are certainly welcome. Public service on my part, I think.

So sorry we couldn't meet up when you were here! Next time maybe we'll both actually be DRIVING our A8s! The CARma wasn't right this time, what with both our cars laid up!
Merry merry, everybody; and a Happy Kwanzaa to your car's former owner!

With Premium at 2.30 and regular under 2.00 on Xmas eve I might not have to work so much.
Polite offers to leave were made to pointed out personnel a couple weeks ago. Several of my peers were walked out last week.
I will head up to visit family if retired. Will definately get together. Will make sure the chrome trim is gone.
Just let me keep the S-Line pedals.
