Selling the A8 question.

Selling the A8 question.
I think its time to sell my 2007 A8. Has anyone bought or sold a car through the forum marketplace? I often see a lot of banter there, but not sure if any deals are being sealed.

An A8 will usually sit for a long time as there are few folks looking for these beasts compared to lesser vehicles. You need your car to be seen by a lot of traffic. With that said, your best bet is craigslist and sites like cars.com. If you're desperate, there are places that buy your vehicle on the spot, although at a cost.
Would you like to share some info on your D3 and how much you're looking to get for it? I'm a used VW/Audi dealer (among other things) and could probably provide you with some reasonable feedback.

I would highly advise you to refer to kbb.com to give you an idea of where to start. I believe its unlikely you'll be able to get 10k from a private sale. I would list it as $9,999 and feel out the offers you get. Don't be thrown off by the retail prices you see on the web. Keep in mind that your car would wholesale at less than $7k at a dealer auction. But then again I'm talking book value and haven't taken condition into account.
The condition of your tires, brakes, and suspension play a role as well, as nothing is cheap on a D3. The massage seats are a plus and I recommend you make that very obvious in your listing.

I found my Avant on the classifieds here, but completed the transaction through E-Bay, where it was also listed. It wasn't the exact car I was searching for, so I never would have seen it on E-Bay. It had the mileage and condition that really piqued my interest in it.
It's amazing that our A8's are worth so little now. It's still an amazing car to drive.
