I'm assuming its a fairly simple installation, definitely on the short list of upgrades for the S8

Default I assume this will fit my 2005

The button is a little intermittent. Sometimes pushing it does nothing. Pushing it again yields a pop from the aftermarket stereo. So after doing this a few times I push Stop and then Start.
It always starts the second time. But reminds me of the drivers window controller. Always worked, but rolling up the drivers window sometimes took 20 tries. And rolling down the others was notchy, could not get them to roll down partially. The replacement works perfectly.
A new start start button would address the issue my original.

Yes you do. Just pop out the ashtray and the cover should pop right out. Be very careful with the clips and the wiring and there are 2 screws holding up the start/stop button.

There is a torx screw that has to taken out when you take out the ashtray. Also there is a gold pin that goes across the start switch that has to be taken out. It's located about the middle of the start switch.

Default Nice, but I would use the money for the OEM battery instead...

Unless the new button can start the car even with a dead battery :-)

Cheers and congrats,

Louis

PS: sometimes, I'm just too practical... it's boring.
