Knowing the rims Mister Bally has on the car, and assuming a typical high speed rated tire, 5th gear in his 2004 A8 will do 181mph at redline. The 172 mph he achieved would occur at 6400rpm in 5th. These numbers are dependent on having tires with minimal treadwear, which would be expected given that he drove there planning to put the car to the limit of it's engineering.
