Default Another New 2015 S8

I just took delivery of my first ever audi.

2015 S8 in Glacier White Metallic.

I traded in my beloved 650 hp Supercharged 2010 Corvette. Inclement weather driving and just overall spirited driving in high horsepower rear wheel drive cars is a handful.

Please don't make me comment on Chevrolet (dis)Service. Ugh.

This S8 is a true space ship compared to the vette. And its also WAY faster from a stop. Truly an engineering marvel to behold. This, and my street bike, will be my commuter and I can't wait to enjoy it some more.

Here I am picking it up:

I read all the bad press on the lane assist thing but I thought it was fantastic!! When I was looking around the car, it kept me from merging onto other lanes! What a great piece of technology! And easy to turn off when I don't want it.

Here she is at home. We truly do have an Audi family now. Every vehicle I own is in the Audi family now!

I look forward to being a useful contributor to the site.

My first questions are, how can I display the RPM on the heads up display? And do R8/Lamborghini Gallardo rear brembo brakes fit on the rear? I NEED some color on those calipers.

Thanks!

Welcome to the fold !
Why drive a car when you can pilot an Audi ?

Good to hear about the lane assist.

There might be a VCDS tweak for the HUD but it's still new and there aren't a lot of us with them.
Hmmm calipers.. new model... one of the most exclusive... not a lot of info there yet LOL.

Great to see some more fresh blood here
Ask away and we'll try to help as much as we can.

Welcome to the D4 world! You will need to investigate a VCDS setting change to see whether you can display RPMs on the HUD---not a standard setting available via MMI thus far. Get some miles on that beast and post a review 😃

Pretty much mirrors my sentiment after nearly 3 weeks of my first Audi. Concur on the Lane Assist, I don't find it obtrusive at all and is pretty neat. I don't think you can display the tack in the HUD, just speed and navigation info.

What are you running for tire pressures?

One additional thought on the HUD is to check over in the C7 forum.
There is a much larger volume of those vehicles compared to D4 and those guys are pretty savvy with the technical change goodies.
