Automatic High Beam Assist - 2013 A8 LED's???
I have a 2013 A8 with the LED headlights and after 9 months finally read the user manual. Did I read the manual correctly that if I have the LED headlights, I also have the auto high beams or was that a separate option? I tried to set them in the garage today but couldn't get the automatic symbol to appear.
Excited to be a part of the Audi family for the first time!

Welcome to AudiWorld !
Looked in my 2012 manual and can't find anything on auto high beam.
What section did you find it under ?
Also possible it wasn't introduced until 2013... -Jake

Thanks for the quick reply! I found it on page 48 (attached) of the manual with the section that discusses the turn signals, etc. I turned it to Auto on the switch but haven't seen the high beam button with the "A"

I don't know about the manual but our 2013 A8L with LED headlights does have the auto high beams but they only work and show the symbol after a certain level of darkness is present. It can sometimes be a hit or miss exercise right after twilight! Most of the time, they work great however, they will also respond to reflective highway signs and turn to low beams from your own high beams reflection!

My old 1963 Cadillac had them, and so does my 2013 S8. A little more refined nowadays, but you could dial the sensitivity up or down on the electric eye on the Caddy to auto dim the lights for you. Pretty trick in 1963! Oh and yes, it's legal here.

Different than the matrix headlamps. The current system automatically turns on the high beams and has a manual override to turn them off---legal in US. The matrix headlamps are a high beam default system that automatically adjusts the light direction and intensity (brightness level) but has no manual override capability---making it illegal in the US.

Yes, Pennsylvania although I have to tell you that when visiting Oklahoma back in 1994, I went out with some friends to hoist a few. When I asked the waitress if they had imported beer, she replied, "oh yes, we have Rolling Rock"! Thought I was gonna fall off my stool laughing! So maybe PA isn't in the states!

Where is the setting in the MMI? I can't find it anywhere. I plan to see if I have these tonight - I'm wondering if I don't have them even though I have the LEDs and the Driver Assistance Package.
