Deals on a new s8 plus
#11
I do pay myself on a W2 and receive a weekly check. I provided pays stubs like they asked, but Audi checked the secretary of states office and requested returns anyway. I just thought it was a little odd after providing pay stubs that showed more than sufficient income. Do you think they have really ordered the car already without getting returns first?
Thanks for your response.

I guess there is no incentive for the dealer to negotiate if you want something to your spec. I think they expect you to pay for it.
When I was talking about ordering brand new, the deal I was getting was MSRP less $2K for owning a BMW currently.

The 5.4% APR that you are quoted is a 0.00225 MF--it is not unusual for a dealer to want at least 50 basis points over the 0.00181 buy rate, so that's not a bad offer (most dealers want 100 extra basis points since they view their finance department as a profit center). Almost $11,000 off MSRP is pretty remarkable for a brand new model but it looks like the dealers are having a hard time moving them for reasons already discussed here.
I assume that the 43% residual is for a 3 year lease--if so, that's a little low so you will be paying a larger depreciation component in each of your lease payments, but if you can participate in the equity at the end of the lease when they dispose of the car you could get an equity check depending on what the car is really worth then.
Overall, a pretty good deal IMHO.

43% Residual! Oh man that's bad... I still don't know how Audi convinces people to lease their cars. Even with a full write off I would feel like I'm being taken advantage of.

With a 43% residual it should give room at the end to sell the car, pay the residual and pocket some money.

I'm really having a hard time with this decision.
S8 plus, %90 the way I would have ordered it. $130K MSRP, they've come down to $115. Car drives great, great engine sound, stealthy. The only think I'm underwhelmed with is the B&O. I like the high end sound systems, and I can't understand what Audi did to this thing.
VS.
2015 S63AMG with about 9K miles. $170K MSRP for about $120K. Not nearly as fast|fun, but the interior is off the charts, engine sounds great, 3D sound system -mind blowing. You won't sneak up on anybody, it gets attention, and it's big.
Both great driving experiences, just different. the sound system seems to be tipping the scale.

Or, choice C...as in to me these are not apples to apples. 2015 S8 non plus, less than 10K miles CPO, low $90K's loaded. Just need look for it. That's your comparo I think to the AMG (new vs. used), and S8 still takes it.
