I saw the A8 and absolutely loved it. The only issue is I know the new model is coming out soon. Does anyone know if it will be released next year or the year after?

I'd like to get a new luxury car, but I'm not in a hurry by any means.

Next gen D5 debuts sometime next year, probably Fall 2016, with European launch Winter 2017---North American launch Fall 2017 as a MY 2018. Here is a rendering picked up from the trades of what it might look like...

Understood. Derf is right on, that's the expected timeframe. If you're thinking a new one, I bet you could get a sweetheart of a lease on a 2015 until the D5 comes out or pick up a used one for even less. That's assuming you're looking to get in the D5's, picking up a D4 to keep for a good while is by no means settling.

All depends on your plans and intentions.

I hope they announce it soon, I want to get a used D4 and announcing the D5 will certainly help make my purchase more affordable...

Wow... It looks so much better... I felt something would happen like this. I decided not to go with D4 and kept D3 S8 for a while as current A8 looks just like A6 and they are little stocky loooking to me. I prefer good ol' days long sleek look in a sedan. Oh boy this is beautiful. I will keep in mind as S version will come out probably a year later.

The A8's all look like plus sized A6's...I mean, everyone in the A8 forums usually can tell pretty quick, but most people need to read the emblem to know, and even so, most people don't know what it is, beyond a big Audi. That's kind of the point.

Yes well, keep in mind this is merely a rendering that may or may not be accurate. It is a variation based on the recently released "Prologue" concept, but who knows how close it really is to the real thing? We can hope.

The A6 & A7's are also expected to have some of the looks borrowed from the Prologue. To expand on Jack's point, I think the design language between A6/A8's will continue to be pretty similar.
