Default New D4 owner question/help

Hello, new to forum and first post.
I'm picking up my new to me 2011 A8L tomorrow and there's a problem with rear sunshade. P. O. Says its out of track on one side. I'm assuming it's broken clips on lift rod. I can't stand something no working, but the dealer fix of replacing all is outrageous. Is there ANYWHERE to get these clips or other options to repair?
Thanks very much for any help.

Well, assuming it's the clips, I checked here for the parts, but don't see the clips. I know in D3's they were made of plastic and broke easily, you might be able to order the parts from the dealer but I doubt it. Worth calling and asking, I suppose. Could be quite expensive to solve or cheap, if you can get the parts by themselves.

Checked the dealer. Said they'd have to replace entire sunshade. $2000-$2500. There was someone on here at one time making replacement clips out oh aluminum. Said they're now out of business.

Look for one from wrecking yards/EBay. Still need to get it installed.

When I had my A6, I was sometimes able to get oddball parts from a company called Shokan (shokan.com). You may have luck with them if you can't find it elsewhere. They refer to themselves as "Audi recyclers".

Thanks Ppinto1. I'll check them out. They sound like a good future resource anyway. As finding one in a area salvage yard, don't think I'd have much luck

No problem. Bear in mind, they're often expensive. I'd always compare their price with one of the online dealer prices. For dealer parts, I've had great experience with one of the forum sponsors: Meadowlands Audi (though, they may go by a different name for the online ordering part). Google will help you find them.
