Parktronic question
In my Panamera the front parking sensors were active all the time. So when I pulled in parking space and the parking breaker could damage the front the sensors would beep.
In the A8 it looks like the sensors only get active in reverse gear. I have to manually turn them on when pull in a parking space.
Is there a way to keep them on permanently?
Mir.

that might be a good question for the ross-tech folks, otherwise you have the switch on your dash you can hit. I know the module goes to sleep when you reach a certain speed, not sure if you can adjust that to let say 250kph. If you can pull that they would be on pretty much all the time once engaged.

I have the same question for my 2015 S8 -- In my previous Mercedes the parking sensors would turn on automatically at low speeds, so there was no need to press the Park Sensor button on the front dash if pulling forward into my garage (i.e., no shifting into reverse).
In our Land Rover, the parking sensor behaved the same way as the Audi and has to be activated manually. But after 3 years of ownership I read in the Land Rover forum that they could be switched to auto-activate at low speeds by holding down the front dash button for a few seconds until it beeps. I tried that in my new S8 but it didn't do anything. :-)

This has been addressed before on this forum. The Audi front sensors do not activate automatically--you must engage them with the button. Possibly to keep them from false signaling.
