Two more $ "finds" on current CPO purchase
I found a few more things I thought I would pass along to other possible CPO buyers.
Last week I asked about people's historical experience on AudiCare being included on earlier years. See: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...ntive-2896573/ It was not on the 2015's I looked at so far, though it apparently is on a fair number of other 2015's from folks responses. I know the promotion was running on at least mid to late 2014's, and it seems like it got extended into 2015's. Audi USA currently shows for CPO's they are including it as complimentary on some recent CPO Audis, but only a very narrow range that does not include the A8, let alone the S8 (or any other S).
New items:
Thus, I was able to match the same "electronics" subscription spiffs and trial periods the new ones come with, but in a CPO.

New items:
- CPO gets you 90 days of Sirius complimentary, like the new ones. I had to ask the right questions, and it takes a while for the salesman to get it activated/reactivated.
- I found playing with AudiConnect that the pre-existing SIM was in the slot on one I was looking to buy, also meaning it was punched out of the shipping card and overall Audi Connect envelope that was still in glove box with the manuals. But nonetheless working with the Audi Connect web site where I enrolled for the 2013 Q5 previously (the T-Mobile flavor), I was able to get it working using the existing SIM # and car VIN. AND, it shows the 6 months complimentary subscription just like a new one would. When I talked to dealer as well as Audi Connect 800 hotline, they really couldn't say with granularity how the SIM's work when you buy a used/CPO model. Anyway, the net is both it still uses prior installed SIM AND that at least in this case the 6 month complimentary applies, even though salesperson thought that was only for new ones. I suppose prior owner may never have logged in to confirm trial period or something.
Thus, I was able to match the same "electronics" subscription spiffs and trial periods the new ones come with, but in a CPO.

I agree with the above.
When I picked up my CPO 2013 S8 last Monday they restarted the free 90 day "trial" for the Sirius service and suspended the Sirius subscription on the 2011 A8L that I traded in.
Also they set up the S8's SIM and AudiConnect with a complimentary subscription and told me to let him know if I wanted to continue it after the trial period.

My dealer is telling me no free AudiConnect. Can someone verify that I absolutely should be getting the free 6 months? I haven't asked about the Sirius radio yet.

I don't know of any definitive way to verify beyond "working the system." It was never clear to me on mine whether the first owner ever turned it on. If not, could be basically I got his free six months. But the SIM was in the slot when I picked it up. Envelope with intro info was still in glove box along with the punch out card SIM comes mounted in.
Basic suggestion, which is what I did. Just get on and set up an account. See what happens. I knew I would keep it running longer term so paid for a subscription. But by the evening I picked it up, the complimentary subscription was in there too and showed up in the account info. and calculation of expiration date.
Also realize besides Sirius radio, there is Sirius traffic. That is actually where the traffic display info comes from--warnings, road work, accidents, etc. If a new one, you get a four year subscription. But apparently not on a used one, at least that I have figured out.

On my 2011, even without Audi Connect or Sirius, it still showed green, yellow, and red for traffic. It should be standard, unless they removed the feature for unknown reasons.

1. Per other reply, traffic runs 4 years so would often "find" it enabled on a late model D4. Trouble on mine I suspect is first owner (who was like 75) apparently didn't enable Sirius at all, including free trial. Yours could have worked since it was in 4 year window and first owner (like most) turned had on from free trial.
2. I thought Traffic went with Audi Connect (and weather and such) which was in turn circa 2013. But maybe there was some other pre Connect version?

It worked until I sold it, and I did have the original sales receipt. The previous owner had bought the car in the winter of 2010-2011, he had traded in a white 2008 A8L and a 2007 R8, and got $25k and the D4 in return. By the time I sold it, it was past the 5 year mark. I did not at any time, however, have access to any traffic reports from Sirius outside the coloring of the roadways on the map.
