Default 1991 90 Quattro 2.3 20v Starting problems

Hi guys, hoping someone here can help me but basically i have replaced the battery and have gotten my alternator tested twice and they dont seem to be the issue as to why my Audi wont hold its charge. I lose charge while driving it, and when i get a jump it wont hold the power, and the lights dim until everything is off. As i have already said i have replaced my battery and I have tested my alternator at a place that rebuilds starters and alternators.
What could the issue possibly be? Any ideas? bad wires? if so which ones should i Check? Any help is appreciated.

sounds like a bad alternator to me. is the belt properly tensioned? is the 'charge' line from the alternator making it back to the battery?

In my experience, if it is also losing charge while sitting, test it with the fuse that controls power locks (etc) pulled out. It could be an endless loop is happening thanks to a vacuum leak in the locks or perhaps just a wiring fault.

Default Trade for VW Beetle

Would you consider trading for a VW Beetle?

Because your lights dim, this may not be the case but I had a similar issue a while back. If your car has a factory car alarm and you still have the key fob, try messing around with that. The factory alarm system will disable the ability to start your car with the starter (But you can still bumpstart).
