90 Coupe Quattro Headlights
Greetings everyone.
I recently acquired a 1990 90CQ and have been wondering what headlight bulb upgrades I can do. I don't have the funds yet to get a set of Euro lights & wiring harness. As a temporary solution, does anyone know what I can do to upgrade from the original bulbs? Any HID kits, higher wattage bulbs that wont burn the American market wiring harness (I was informed they are inferior to the European market harness)? Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

All of the B3 harnesses are inferior, they were designed for 55w bulbs. Doesn't matter if the harness is US or ROW, they are both too small of wire gauge for any amperage greater than 4A.
You may be able to try a set of LED headlamps, I was going to switch my H1/H1 (aka RS2, but they were found on the '95 S2 and '95-00 Cabrio as options) to LED, but as of right now I can't fit them to my 2nd CQ, because there's a big radiator in the way to cool the 4.2L engine. Working on that...
