Heater Core - Do I have to discharge AC
I am going to attempt the heater core swap. I am not 100% sure if I have to discharge the A/C.
The vehicle is a 1994 Audi 90 Quattro 2.8L, manual transmission. Believe or not, the stock A/C still works and has never been recharged. When I bought this car 18 years ago the mechanic told me to expect the AC to go.
Thanks

When I did my Cabriolet I pulled the entire airbox..I needed to replace the vacuum motor for the recirculate flap anyways..and you need to pull the a/c side of the airbox to get to the part..
The answer is no, you do not need to discharge the a/c,,the heater side of the airbox is help on with clips that can be removed (the rear clips can be fiddly) and the heater core once the box is out.
