Default Need Help and Recommendations - Starting Problem

I am having problem or problems with my '90 quattro coupe. What is happening is it is not starting from time to time.

I have not being able to find the exact problem, but this is what I have noticed. When the days are warm and hot, the car starts and drives fine. If the car starts, it drives fine.

But when the days are cool or cold especially in the mornings, it does not start. It turns but won't start. My mechanic said the alternator, starter and battery is good.

I live in an area where the temperature will fluctuate from mornings to afternoons.

If anyone out there has any insight or experience with this, please give me your recommendations.

Thanks

No sure exactly what maintenance since I have not had this coupe for long. I was told a new battery, fluids and all belts were changed. But looks like everything else is stock.

Thanks, I'll check that first. Any other recommendations, please let me know.

Would you happen to have a diagram for the ground to the engine or where I can find it?

look near the engine mounts for black thick cables running from engine to either frame of the car or to the engine mount. I would start with replacing spark plugs, cap and rotor and wires if the look old/hard. Air filter and fuel filter. After that start chasing vacuum leaks as by now, our cars are full of them and clean your ISV with some brake cleaner and spray WD40 afterwards. these are all fairly inexpensive maintenance items that may have been skipped by the PO.
also, have you tried pulling the codes?
