Default Needs advice :)

Hello all its been a while since I posted out on here my audi 80 is tappin slightly am looking at upgrading they engine slightly not swapping as want to keep the original one it has 250 thou mile she runs ok but is lacking in power alittle bit any advice or help.would be great

Tapping could be the hyro lifters are weak or dirty..or on the 1.8..a clattering rod bearing.

if you are going for "a good cheap motor swap," an ABA 2.0 engine is hands down the best option for you. Not for the feint hearted though..some fabricating will need to be done.

or just get a 1.8t doner car.
have you done all the regular maintenance? plugs, filters, wires, cap/rotor? i dont know if timing is adjustable on that one or not
