Can I use Dexron VI when I change my transmission fluid? If not what is recommended?

I would as a first choice use Pentosin ATF1..available from Amazon/Ebay/NAPA in five liter jugs. Shop around for the best price.

Second choice would be Valvoline "MaxLife" ATF full synthetic. Meets the LT71141 spec and is very good ATF. Available at WM and most auto parts stores in a one gallon jug.

The Maxlife was a good choice. Much cheaper than the Euro brands. I did a drain and fill. The improvements were noticeable right away. I would have changed the filter, had I not ordered the wrong kit. The correct filter is on the way.
