Default '96 Cab window adjustment

I just successfully replaced the driver's front window regulator on my 96 cab. It runs full up and down, but in the full up position, the window is misaligned to the inside. How do I adjust the window to track more to the outside? Did some forum searching, and came up short.

The Bentley has a detailed procedure for adjusting the window regulator frame. Varnia is right about those shims too. You may have lost yours when you removed the window regulator. They look like fender washers and fit between the window regulator and the door. The door panel must come off and the window regulator adjusted to fit squarely and not too high or low. Then the fender washers are fitted to move the window in or out to ride correctly in the channels in the roof. You can try fender washers from NAPA if the Audi washers are hard too get.

This is what the Audi shims look like:

Yes, those shims are pain...Thats why I tried to remember which one goes where and then installed the new regulator several month ago. I think I still have those somewhere...

if you are installing an other regulator or disassembled then reassembled your regulator, most likely it will need different spacers.

But its not that difficult to find out.
