And your car looks so cool , I'm trying to figure out, since I have to pay my mechanic for labor because 1. I don't have engine pulling tools and 2. Never done it before and don't know how. My mechanic says it will be 11.7 hrs of labor and it will cost about 1000$ for the swap, the motor I found is only 500 bucks and has good compression but the mileage was unknown and it was a 12V V6 that they had, anyway I'm wondering how much more labor it would cost me to do the 1.8 T and what the benefits would be. Thanks for putting up with my newbie questions. And hybrid nice to know you are close, what area do you live in?

I had a 94 Cabriolet with a bad engine and did my first engine swap with it.

It isn't really all that hard to pull one out and put another in. When you get into a different engine it gets complicated quickly.

Update. I bought the motor, I was able to talk him down to 400 and Im excited to get my car running right, hope after the engine work I won't have to pour any more money into it to to get it on the road.
