I'm having a similar problem. When my A3 was new (about a month ago) I could hardly see in the rain since the wipers seemed to leave a film on the windshield. I tried cleaning the window and wipers, but that didn't help.

Last night I applied a coating of aquapel to my window, which helped with the film, but now my wipers chatter horribly when used. Any other thoughts?

+1 on rain X on my previous cars, haven't put it on the S3 yet.
I have found that RainX helped on my cars too.

Default Just run em like nuts.

Mine were so bad I almost turned around and drove back to the dealer. But I just put them on full blast and the problem was gone within about an hour maybe.

It is just a new wiper thing.

So, after some thought and measurements (on my other Audis) I decided that I think the driver side wiper is simply too long. (?)

On my car at least it was the bottom edge of the wiper that was chattering. I tried a wiper 2 inches shorter and the chattering was gone. (24 inch blade.) OR, could simply be that the new blade was better or less aged.

This. Thanks - I bought a pair and no more chatter. Fantastic. Can't believe how terrible the OEM blades are given the price of the car.

I just got duralast DLA 20 and 24 and they are just a tiny bit from the edge...seems like a 26 would go over.
