2015 to 2016
Bought my 2015 with my fiancé at the dealer with me and settled on an S3 that was very nice, but not exactly what I wanted.
Had a great opportunity to move into a black optics 2016 S3 on the last day of July and the car is amazing!!!
Paddle shifters are different, no storage under passenger seat in the 2016 are among small changes I've noticed this far. Also different wheels on the black optics package but that's pretty obvious.
Oddly, from a performance standpoint, the car has a better throttle response and has been even more fun to drive than the previous!

No I did not.
Features this one has that I didn't have previously are...
All black interior
Led lighting package (interior)
B&O sound system
Homelink
Alternate wheels
Auto dimming mirrors
Black Optics!!
Packages that both had included
Nav
Audi side assist
Backup camera
LED headlights
Also a big thank you to Joseph Jay at Audi Tysons Corner for a great deal and great experience on this 2016 purchase.

Very nice! Congrats! The black optics must add +15hp so that's why it's more fun to drive.
I ordered my 2016 but skipped the black optics package. I have to say I'm not a fan of the rims they come with which is the main reason I skipped black optics. I actually quite like the regular performance 19" rims. The black optic rims look like flower petals to me. And they're standard on a Toyota Camry...
Just curious, what sort of costs/loss/financial hit do you take for just swapping cars in 1 year? I'm kinda new to the whole leasing/trading in/upgrading thing. How does that work? Did you basically just sell and then buy new? Would it not have been cheaper to just blackout everything at a body shop?

It was the last day of the month, I had bought my 2015 just 3 months earlier, and the deal was what I had needed to get.
The 2016 MSRP was $2,640 over the 2015 that I had and the deal that we were able to agree upon was too good to pass up on everything I wanted in the car.
I traded in the 2015 and bought the 2016 new, as I did when I traded in a 2012 GTI for the 2015 S3.
I also think I prefer the 2015 19" wheels but I don't dislike these V-spoke wheels enough to switch.
