I really want to know if S3 dsg software can be installed onto an A3 quattro. the 1,000 rpm difference I think would really help the A3 off the line. The response on your car seems much more aggressive than my A3's launch control. (yes i realize the difference in power also contributes) But anyone who has launched their A3 probably knows what I am talking about.

The clutches engage, the car kinda crawls and THEN turbo seems to take over and a secondary surge comes on. The Launch is not IMMEDIATE, but still nice regardless. In your video the car really seems to rocket forward as soon as you release with minimal drop in rpm

BTW, the transmission gear ratios are different in the S3 vs the A3. So that will also factor into comparing performance under launch control.

Ah yes - I forgot about that. Does anyone have each car's ratios on hand? I will try searching tonight after work.

Looks like first and final are the same, so only 2nd gear would help 0-60 right? Seems like launch rpm/turbo have more of an effect than gearing

They are listed in the A3/S3 Product Information Books. Only first gear is the same. Gears 2 thru 6 are all different.
