Downloading the updates now for both the A3 and S7. Funny the A3 update is 15 Gb and the S7 is only 9.7Gb.

For anyone who didn't read the full instructions before starting they want to you download directly to the SD card.... I'm on a Mac too and finding the SD card in the 'target' selection is not as simple as you may think, ask me how I now know this LOL.

I am downloading the update as we speak.

Good Luck.
In between Audi called to say it was fixed. I was a little confused about the page that gets to Audi Connect Services. While you got there, I am passing the following on to others in case they are confused.

After signing into myAudi and then clicking on Audi Connect Services you get to a page that shows the car again. and then need to click on the double right arrow to get to the page on which the map update can be accessed.

One other thing, when Audi called they said the update now works best with either Firefox or Chrome as the browser.

Nope, I too did the S7 update, and it is also only 9.7Gb as listed. However, the download ended up around 12.7Gb when the other files that are sent along with the update are written to the SD card.

Closing the loop for anyone following this thread. I used my Mac and Chrome to download the update directly to a 32GB SD card. Put it in the car and did the update, took about 20 to 30 minutes to complete. What is nice is that you can shut the car off in the middle of the update and it does pick up where it left off so no need to do it all in one shot.

Good luck everyone.

If you could, it would likely be slower than a wired connection in the house. Wifi is always slower than a direct wired connection and the weaker the signal the bigger difference. Saving to the SD card also goes slow.

I was told the server from which it is downloaded is in Germany and even if the server is fast, the distance is your enemy on a large download like the update is.

OK, I'll ask how you know. I have a Mac also and can't find a selection for an SD card. I downloaded the data to folder on the computer and then copied to the SD card. The car would not recognize the SD card. How did you find the SD card so the file could be downloaded directly?
