You need trans temp thought, and I found i could get it through the Torque App and my bluetooth dongle. That was the last piece I needed

I have done the transmission fluid on my daughter's Jetta using an infrared thermometer to monitor the temperature of the transmission fluid with good results. Just another alternative to those who wish to tackle the job without access to the various scan tools.
