Changing the transmission to S mode will change the throttle response and shift points. This means that both the engine will respond more aggressively to throttle presses and the transmission will hold the gears at higher revs to allow for a quicker and sportier reaction. Like a lion ready to pounce on a WRX.

Default I seriously doubt it

having one as loaner for few days made me yawn. 250HP I think not.

Exactly.

It doesn't change hp or torque.

Why are you answering for him? I was being sarcastic in my reply to Hoffdano to teach me since he assumed I think drive select controls the cars horsepower.

Assumptions are the bane of the Internet. Sarcasm is difficult to be ascertained via text. I was voluntarily giving correct and useful information that someone other than your sarcastic self might benefit from. Have a nice day. (That's sarcasm).

Sarcasm is also angers ugly cousin, so don't get mad when someone ask you why are you jumping in conversations.

Thought this was pretty interesting from a GTI which has the same engine as the A3's 2.0T

From: MK7 VW GTI is Lying Through It's Grill!!!

that Golf is stock at 210 hp and so this Dyno shows it getting 229 hp, that's an 8.3% increase.

The A3 2.0T (and current A4/A5) is stocked at 220hp. If the same math above is applied then the A3 2.0T is just a shy under 240hp.
