Advanced Technology Package
WOW! This adaptive cruise control (ACC) and active lane keeping(ALKA) are amazing. Once you've set the ACC you don't have to touch the brake or gas, and once you turn on the ALKA the car makes minor steering corrections to stay in the lane. Look ma, no hands or feet! LOL. Not that I would ever recommend driving without your hands and feet on all of the controls, but it's reassuring to know that if you drop the ball, your A3 will pick it up. Between that and the amazing traction, I've never felt so safe in a car before.

What's the minimum speed for activation?

Id be interested in hearing how effective the active lane assist is on different types of road surfaces and conditions. While highways are typically well painted and cared for, I wonder what it takes for the system to get confused or not want to work.

The ALKA can actually create unsafe driving conditions in those circumstances as the car might actually pull out of the lane.
However, outside of that, I've found the system to work quite well - much more subtle than I was expecting (no jarring beeps or intense vibrations - just a gentle push back towards center lane and barely noticeable buzz on the wheel).
ACC works perfectly and is a dream if you sit in traffic for an hour a day like me. I still don't use it too much as I am still in the "honeymoon" period with my car, but i imagine my use will only increase over the years.

Active Lane Assist was very helpful for me driving the interstate to Chicago and forgetting to take my coat off before starting my trip.
In any other car it would be a dangerous maneuver to go hands free to free yourself from the seatbelt, and then free yourself from your coat. Active Lane Assist did its job.
