Default iPhone 6s Plus connectivity with MMI

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about upgrading to an iPhone 6s Plus and I had a couple of questions about the MMI interface on my 2016 S3 with it.

I have the lightning cable connection cable for MMI and wanted to make sure that I'll be able to connect with it.

Also, I wanted to find out if the connection will work just like an iPod with music on my phone, being able to sort through Artists, Songs, Albums, Playlists, etc. I've also read people having issues connecting the iPhone 6 with the MMI, so I was checking to see if that was fixed too.

Thanks!

I have 6 plus and when you connect the phone with the factory lightening cable, everything works great. You can play music from any apps and the info will pop on the screen and you can scroll through your musics on the screen. You can do this via bluetooth as well.

Ok, let me also try this with my Android because with my Windows phone's bluetooth, I can't scroll through anything, I have to use my phone directly to do everything.

I did also try the SD card slot, which works pretty well too. The only downside is if I need to make any playlists.

Yeah donno about Android phones. I always use SD card and sometimes Bluetooth. I like the entertainment system, I think you can use the full-potential of the system with an iPhone.

Yeah, that's what the AMI/MMI was primarily designed for unfortunately.

I wish I could get some kind of a discount on an iPhone for being an Audi driver!

I'm hoping I can find a good deal on an iPhone 6s. I think the Plus model will be too big for me.

If you go iPhone + AMI/MMI, let me know if you have this issue, quite frustrating:

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/aud...fault-2900593/

Upgraded to iOS 10 last night; I'm hopeful, yet doubtful, that this problem might be addressed. Although, I doubt it's an Apple issue. With the other issues such as Siri being disabled, and the iPhone mic being inhibited while connected via Bluetooth, I'm eager to point the finger at Audi.

UPDATE: just tried with iOS 10, no dice. Connected phone to AMI cable, selected AMI source in MMI, played a song, blew into vehicle mic near maplights/domelight/sunroof controls, and static was carried over to the speakers. Awesome how we upgrade to the AMI for a better music listening experience, and this is what we get.
